Footwork and Brass is an organization created to preserve the cultural and artistic practices within the Second Line culture of New Orleans. Our purpose is to document and archive the second Line culture and allow the clubs and brass bands to exhibit their cultural identity through our projects.

A unique culture full of beauty
New Orleans is renowned for having the most distinct culture in the world. The Second Line clubs and Brass Bands play a vital role in preserving the culture. For more than 130 years, the Second Line culture has defined and entertained the alleyways of New Orleans neighborhoods. Although there are over thirty-five clubs that parade annually, only 3 percent of them have an online presence for the world to see.
